Map Keys in Windows

** Things on this page are fragmentary and immature notes/thoughts of the author. Please read with your own judgement! **

If you are a heavy Vim user and you have work on Windows, it is suggested that you Swap the Caps Lock key with the Escape key. The swaped key mapping will even pass to virtual machines, so that if you use Linux VMs you don't have swap the two keys in the VMs again.

SharpKeys

SharpKeys modify the registry to map keys. SharpKeys is great!!! modifying the registry by myself didn't make it work but Sharpkeys works perfectly and is stunningly easy

Editing Registry Manually

Sometimes it won't work even if you follow popular instructions found online. Not recommended.

AutoHotkey

Not recommended for this purpose.
