EV Battery¶

1. A newly purchased EV typically provides an 8-year warranty on the battery.

2. Dr.Ev is mobile application designed to manage, monitor, and optimize the battery health, charging efficiency, and driving habits of electric vehicles, particularly Teslas.

3. LFP batteries are very safe and thus are good choice for daily commute vehicle (though the range might be smaller).

4. NMC large+ batteries (applies to EVs with software locked capacities, e.g., Tesla, Rivian, etc) have reserved battery capacity (software locked) so that you never really charge to 100%. EVs with those batteries are also good choices.

Bi-directional Charger¶

The idea is pretty cool. But how do you easily use it?

• have go invest a lot to purchase a bidirectional charger and install it

• do I have to constantly switch the main broker on and off? If not then convenient, otherwise, a pain in the ass
